Product Description
Philodendron Birken is a striking houseplant that’s native to Central and South America, but has gained popularity around the globe due to its decorative, easy-care nature, particularly in Australia. Also known as the 'Philodendron White Wave', this plant is recognized for its dark green leaves with variable white streaks and variegation.
Care Guide in Australia:
Light: It prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate a bit of shade. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves.
Water: The Birken doesn't require frequent watering; it should be watered once the top inch of soil has dried out. It is susceptible to root rot if over-watered.
Temperature: This plant is quite comfortable in average household temperatures, between 16-24°C. However, it can tolerate temperatures as low as 12°C.
Humidity: The Birken loves a humid environment; a room with a humidity level of around 60% is ideal. But it can adapt to the average home humidity.
Soil: It prefers well-draining soil; a mixture of peat moss, perlite, and potting soil would work well.
Feeding: It should be fertilised once a month during the growing season (Spring-Autumn) using a balanced houseplant fertilizer.
Note: Philodendron Birken, like many other Philodendron plants, is toxic if ingested, so it should be kept away from pets and small children.
